Graphics Card Help

So i have a year old alienware 14x r4 Laptop
i7 processor (4770mq), 16 gb ram nvidia gtx 765m graphics card


anyways , about a week ago, i did a update on my GE experience (for the graphics card) everything was fine and than a couple hours later i was in Teamspeak idle and my clanmates moved me to a channel when i was out at the grocery store, so my girlfriend could hear all the guys  screaming and yelling as i wasn't even home at the time,  so she came and tried to shut it off her self.
I came home to my screen like this




So of course i freaked out and thought she had slammed the laptop down or some ***. after restarting my computer 2 times, it went back to normal.
But now every time i leave my computer idle or goes to sleep mode, i wake it back up to the screen like that.
So i formatted my computer, and as soon as i would do updates to my graphics card , the screen would do it again


When i actually get a good screen  i now only get 10-35 FPS in gamei play (World of tanks) with the modes all on low, i use to get 80 - 100 fps in optimized settings.....

So does this my graphics card is going to ***? or is it something im doing wrong.
