Hello community,

Ive gone through all the forum post regarding this issue and seem to have found many solutions but none of them really worked for me. Let me explain you my problem -

I was having the issue of my laptop suddenly giving the BSOD ( regarding the atikmpag.sys and all ) . I tried a lot of things - opening the laptop and replacing the thermal paste of the processor and the thermal pad of the video card. But that didnt help permanently.

Then what I did was disable the graphics card from device manager and operated my laptop without the card. The processor used to heat a lot more but my laptop was always able to boot up without giving any beep codes. But since this was not the perfect solution , I had replaced my motherboard assuming it was the graphics card which was the culprit ( since it used to go to 90+ degrees when playing a game) .

And now the real problem starts - After replacing the motherboard I stopped getting the BSOD regarding the video failiure but many times while booting up my laptop gave the 8 beep code and the screen didnt show up. The temperatures were still high ( 50-65 degree for processor and 60-70 degree for the video card ideally ). So this time I had enough of it and tried everything I could.

1. exchanged my i5 with my friend's i3 and tried to run my laptop. for a few days It didnt give any problems but eventually it came back.

2. exchanged my RAM , didnt help.

3.  once my laptop was not able to boot up so I tried booting it up with my friend's LCD ( he also has the same laptop as mine ). But again no help.

4. updated all the drivers - video card and BIOS.

5. tried the GPU reflowing technique as seen from youtube.

6. Also , I booted up my laptop with the D key pressed and it gave me colored screens so the LCD is alright.

finally I am back to using my laptop with my video card disabled but even that causes sudden shutdowns due to overheating. I have no clue whats happening here. The motherboard ( along with the video card ) , the processor , the LCD and even the RAM has been exchanged and tried but still none helped. Disabling the graphics card solves it but that doesnt make sense since I had replaced the card along with the motherboard.  Right now either I use with card disabled or whenever I use it with the card enabled it runs fine but when I try to shut it down and boot it up the next time , It would give me the beeps. The weird solution I found was I left it running with the beeps on and all the laptop vents blocked by a pillow. When it turns super hot I would restart it and then I wont get any beeps.

This issue has taken up a lot of efforts and time from my side, I really want to know whats wrong and what can be done. Please help.

Thank you.
