Dear all;
My (Nvidia GeForce GT 555M) graphics card is not detected in both my Dell Alienware laptop's BIOS as well as in the Device Manager in windows control panel. The graphic card also could not be detected by Nvidia's website as well.
My operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit (Service Pack 1).
The graphics card does not have a driver at all, so I went & downloaded all of the recommended Nvidia graphic card driver versions/releases for my graphic card model; from the Dell's Technical Support website.
But when I was trying to install the Nvidia graphic card driver in my laptop, I keep on receiving the following error;
NVIDIA Installer cannot continue
This graphic driver could not find compatible graphics hardware.
In addition to that, the graphic card itself is also not detected at all by the laptop. (My laptop can only detect the Intel HD Graphics 3000 - Which is just the basic integrated graphics in the motherboard.)
The problem is the same when I tried to install the rest of the Nvidia graphic card driver versions/releases as well (all of which I have downloaded from the Dell's Technical Support website);
- NVIDIA_NOTEBOOK-BETA-DRIVER-_P08_R318652
- Gfx_NV_P11_306.97_1FWD3_setup_ZPE
- NVIDIA_MULTI-DEVICE_A02_R316025
- NVIDIA_MULTI-DEVICE_A01_R299189
I'm not sure where to locate a "working" Nvidia driver for my GT 555M graphics card.
My laptop is already around 2 years old, & my hard disk drive broke down recently which I have replaced, so I had to reinstall all of the drivers for my system & I did not encounter any problems except for this Nvidia graphic card driver serious issue right now, which i do not know how to solve.
When I brought this laptop brand-new the time, it already came with the Nvidia graphic card driver pre-installed (& the AlienAutopsy software will update the Nvidia graphic card driver from time to time - it never encountered any problems at all.)
I would really appreciate if the experts in here can provide me with the information to solve this problem.
(In short: About how to install the driver for my Nvidia graphics card - Which does not have a driver at all currently - And is also not detected at all by the computer.)
I'm afraid that my Nvidia graphic card has already malfunction/stopped-working/burned-out. (But I really hope that this isn't the case.)
I hope that the experts in here can provide me with the insides/information for me to try to solve this problem.
Regards.
