Lines across XPS 14 Screen L421X

The screen on my Dell XPS 14 L421X has developed a few thin lines across the laptop display.  These do not appear when using an external monitor.

Any idea what is causing them or more importantly what I can do to fix them?  They look like a line of pixels that runs across the entire screen from one side to the other but is very thin.
