Hi, I've been trying to install the Windows 8.1 update on my Dell XPS 15 521x Laptop. The installation runs fine until the end where I just get faced by a black screen. I've had to restart a couple of times and the system has restored itself onto Windows 8 now. According to forums the problem could be caused by the graphics card driver not working properly on 8.1. Do you think this could be the problem? I'm using a 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M Graphics card.
If it is the problem, where could I find the latest graphics drivers for that card? & also how do I go about installing them? Would I need to uninstall the old one first & install the new one or will it know to update it?
Also should this be done before or after trying to install Windows 8.1?
Cheers
Ed
