Ok, I have tried to contact Dell 3 times to find out how to get a new monitor and I am guessing since I am no longer under warranty that is why they keep hanging up on me.
Anyway, my monitor is bad because it has a "smearing" issue and webpages fade from one to the other with a "ghost" image behind the new page until it fades out and only the new page shows, for lack of a better way of describing it.
The computer works fine hooking up an external monitor. The device manager says it is a CPT14C7 Generic PnP monitor. But none of the stores online list those as a "name" all I can find are
I have tried to find a new monitor online since Dell didn't provide an answer, but there are so many I don't know what one to buy. How do I figure out what one to buy? Looking at the information on the inside of the monitor tells me the following information:
Chunghwa
E194548
HG1KOK 34 DB
CLAA156WB11A
711 LEW
EDID5 WEEK
15.6" 1366*768
R156WB
156WB11S
Is this an LCD? An LED backlit one? I'm not computer savvy... so if anyone can just say... buy this___________ it would be greatly appreciated. I can put the replacement in I think... as long as it is just the 8 screws holding the monitor in on the front and the 4 on the side.
Sorry this is so wordy.
Thanks!
