I notice a lot of light escaping from the display of my brand new laptop. Just received it two weeks ago and it was present since I received it. Other than the light leakage / bleed I am quite happy, but it is rather annoying. None of my previous computers had issues like this.
It is particularly noticeable against a black back ground.
