I have a XPS17 L702X which is about 4-5 years old I think. I use it with dual external 1920x1200 HP monitors via the HDMI & DP connectors.
For the past year or so it has worked fine but recently it takes time to "get going". The DP monitor comes up straight away but the HDMI is blank for 5-15 minutes. It seems to be heat related as not using it for an hour so means the HDMI work after a few minutes. If not used for a few days it takes 15 or so minutes for the HDMI port to work. The display flashed and comes and goes for a further few minutes then settles down and works fine.
So i am guessing it is hear related. Does anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be? Do I need to replace the video/USB port board or is it hte video card that is the problem?
Any help would be really great.
