I've got a new Inspiron 17 7746 laptop that's only 60 days old that I bought for my daughter. She has been using it regularly for about a month, so nothing new has been installed. There are two games she is trying to play, and they won't work. It always worked in the past. The games are Perfect World International, and League of Legends.
When playing the first thing that happens is that the screen gets all crazy looking with different colors. Then the game will crash and close and the message "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered: Display driver Intel HD Graphics Drivers for Windows 8(R) stopped responding and has successfully recovered."
I'm actually a little confused as to why this is even being used. Do these laptops use two video cards at the same time? This one has the nVidia Geforce 845M video card installed, and I assume the Intel is on board graphics. If I disable the Intel card, everything moves really slow.
I also bought the same exact computer for my son, and he can play without a problem.
