I've been struggling with this issue for months now. The problem is that the brightness adjustment option on my Inspiron 3721 suddenly disappeared. It's gone under power options and I'm unable to adjust it using Fn key which just does nothing.
I've tried everything. I reinstalled Windows 7, I reinstalled all my video drivers and I tried almost every solution there is to find on the internet and nothing worked. I downloaded Dell Display Manager and when I try to run it, it says I don't have a supported Dell monitor so I've come to the conclusion that Windows just doesn't properly recognize the display.
I think this problem is also linked to being unable to connect the laptop to TV via HDMI cable. I've tried different cables and nothing happens. It's not the TV because other laptops I tried connecting worked just fine.
Any thoughts on how to fix this?
