So I got an Alienware 17 laptop with the R9 M290x card about a month ago, had issues a few times with it saying the ati drivers stopped working and would pause and work fine again, have gone through updating to the latest drivers for both the intergrated card and the R9 about 2 weeks back.
Worked fine until today when it froze, now when I turn it on I get the splash screen saying alienware but instant it leaves that I get a black screen, don't get anything showing with another monitor plugged in.
The R9 wasn't showing in the bios so ran a system check, then it showed it back in there but still same issue booting up.
Have tried to update the bios when I got in for a short time but back to the same issue and a factory restore didn't help either.
I'm thinking the R9 is dying as if it was the screen I wouldn't get the splash screens or be able to access the bios.
Any ideas on how to fix this or am I going to have to take it for repair where I purchased it?
