I'm getting a whitish screen on boot-up which when reaches the Microsoft logo seems to get back to normal. After reaching the Vista SP1 desktop I sometimes get a BSOD with the NVIDIA driver Nvlddmkm.sys being the culprit. After a while the screen goes all fuzzy and then the machine crashes and re-starts. The driver date and version in Device Manager > Display adapters for NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS is 16/6/2009 and 8.15.11.8621.
When I enter my Service Tag at the Dell Support Driver site I get http://www.dell.com/support/drivers/uk/en/ukdhs1/DriverDetails/Product/xps-m1530?driverId=371PX&osCode=WLH&fileId=2731106263&languageCode=EN&categoryId=VI
nVidia GeForce 8400M, GeForce 8600M, v.7.15.11.7644, A03
Vista 32bit driver

Now what should I be doing? How come the driver listed here is older (version and date) than the one I have on my laptop - that had been working fine for nearly 4 years and recently the screen starting playing up as explained. Also the graphics adapter is not listed with GS version just 8400M - mine is "8400M GS"
Please help! Thanks.
