In the past two weeks I've started to have random graphic driver failures (screen goes blank, then recovers, and task bar notification pops up indicating graphics driver failure).... This is on my Inspiron 11 3137 laptop.
To begin troubleshooting, I ran the MyDell diagnostic tests; the video card part of the test failed with the error "Surface Test Failure" - WVC07-L1M.
I've done my research on other posts regarding this error, both on here and other sites. I made sure I had the latest Intel graphics driver. I also tried the second most recent Intel HD Graphics driver from the Intel site, and the error persisted. I made sure all the Intel graphics settings were default, and tried various other settings, too, with no luck.
If I were just getting the MyDell error, I wouldn't be concerned; but with the intermittent graphic driver failure I am a bit worried, because my laptop's warranty runs out in 11 days. Additionally, I've had other unrelated issues with this unit so I'm weary of its long-term prospects.
If there is a Dell rep on here, is there a way the graphics "card" can be replaced under warranty? (Although I'm pretty sure the graphics for this model are on the CPU die itself...)... Anyhow, I read on other threads with this issue, users ultimately had their units repaired.
