Screen problems with my Dell 15 Inspiron? Purple line on the bottom 2 inches.

I have a purple line on my screen about 2 inches thick on the bottom of my screen.  It also shoes on start up.  Do I need another Monitor.  My computer is still under warranty.    Thanks
