I have a Dell Inspiron N5050 with the following specifications:
1) A recently upgraded RAM - 6Gb
2) A 500Gb hard-disk
3) i3 CPU
4) Intel HD 3000 graphics card
5) Windows 7 x64 operating system
A week after I bought this laptop I noticed a major decrease in performance (2 years ago). This summer I decided to replace the hard-disk with a new one and upgrade the RAM to 6Gb from 4Gb in the hope of improving the performance. Still when I start the computer from scratch or from hibernate mode all programs take about 5-15 seconds to load just like when I had 4Gb of RAM. I cannot understand why this is so because I have a desktop computer with the same specifications but with 4Gb RAM and which is much faster - programs start immediately.
In addition, very few programs are installed and I defragment and clean up the computer once a week with wise disk cleaner. When I tried other programs such as ccleaner, simcleaner etc. there was no change in performance.
As regarding startup, I have removed all non-microsoft services except for the antivirus and the Dell touchpad driver. The antivirus is AVG 2015. Other antiviruses did not result in good performance either.
What can I do?
