So I have a Samsung 245bw Monitor that I would like to connect to my Dell inspiron N5110 to.
The problem is that the monitor has no hdmi port, only a dvi and a vga port, So I try using an hdmi to dvi cord (hdmi in my laptop to DVI in the monitor) and It is not connecting on my laptop at all, but on my monitor it changes from "check signal cable" to black screen... I have tried (window+P) to open up display setting, as well as open up graphic properties and going to change displays, and only my laptop will show up.
This is probably the most important part, is that i have another dell laptop( my fathers) and his connects no problem, instantly.
What's wrong with my laptop? More info can be provided! please help
