So I bring home my first laptop (as mentioned above, it's a dell 17 5748), set it up on my desk, and play games for hours as the computer runs anything I throw at it with ease. The Nvidia 840M gives me amazing visuals and performance to boot. That is however until I unplugged it from the AC adapter (as you do from time to time with Laptops), at which point the computer's performance drops off a cliff. I then proceeded to play with the power options, Nvidia Geforce Options, and the Intel HD options, setting all options to things like "High performance". With little to no improvement, I turn to you, the internet, for some sort of solution.
Any advice to get my Laptop's performance while running on battery to that of it while using the ac adapter would be greatly appreciated.
(Oh, and for reference, the most intensive game I play right now is Counter Strike: Global Offensive, which my Laptop runs on max like a dream, while plugged in that is)
Thanks in advance!
