Having trouble playing Blu-Ray disc on Inspiron 17R

Hi guys,

I'm having trouble playing a Blu-Ray disc I just purchased on my Inspiron 17R laptop.  Although I've had the laptop for years now, this is my first time trying to play a Blu-Ray on it.  When popping the disc in, I don't get an autoplay option and when I go to the disc drive, it won't let me play the disc.  The error message I get says "Windows Media Player cannot play the DVD. The disc was created in a manner that the Player does not support." The disc similarly didn't play when I tried to play it with VLC.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem?
