Hi,
I have a big problem and I don't know how I can fix it. I will be very proud if someone can help find the exact problem. I'll give you a virtual beer for sure...
After watching someting with the output HDMI on my TV, I shutdown my laptop. The next time, I powerup my laptop, the screen light up (you see the backlight on) but stay blank from the start, even durint the bios loading.
At this point, I was really afraid but after many seconds, I heard the Windows chime. I tried to switch video output with the Fn-F8 command, but the screen stay blank except sometime the backlight shutoff, probably when it is in extern mode output. So I plug my hdmi in.... nothing.
After that, I try on a VGA screen, nothing... After a while, I thought that I should try to go in safe mode just to try something. So, blindly, I push the F10 button on the power up. When I saw that the computer was not going to Windows, I try the Fn-F8 key and I was happy to notice that the output was working on the VGA screen. I was then able to explore and try many things. In fact, to succeed to have another output working, I'm force to pass by the boot menu... (I dont' know why)
So, I try to desinstall, reinstall graphic card driver, play with all the setting... nothing work. I try also to go in the Bios to see if some setting was changed. I cannot do nothing around the video output.
So I thought that my LCD screen was broken or the inverter, but at one time I put my computer on sleep and hit accidently that button for the Dell Media Direct and WHAT??? The application appeared on the LCD screeen of the laptop.
Conclusion
The screen seems to work
The inverter seems to work
The graphic card seems to work
It's only like the default output for Windows is not the LCD anymore and I don't know how to changed it.
But if the Bios is not showing on the LCD, it can't be only a Windows setting. I think there is a setting in the firmware of my graphic card.
I'm lost... Help me please ;-)
