Hi All to my fellow Dell Dynamites,
I am writing to post to make a point about my experiences with my DELL INSPIRON 15 7000 SERIES 7537 Laptop.
I have ordered this dell laptop model after lot of research online and asking lot of friends.
Many suggested Lenovo, but when checked on the models offered by Lenovo, I was about to buy it, but later on realized that there are so many drawbacks like battery, display, heat issues and after sales support.
Again, the next stop was with HP laptops, I already have a HP laptop in India, but using it for long duration, found that it has lot of heating issues, and it blows out lot of hot air, which is a huge turn off. Most of the times, the chocolates kept beside the laptop use to Melt :'(
Finally, I thought dell might be the one, again lot of doubts about the company's laptop models, but considering few aspects like Inspiron 15 7000 series and the many reviews I read, I finalized on this laptop, and went for a high-end configuration with all features. yeah shelling out 1200 bucks for such laptop many suggested me to consider Apple & its Mac Book.
But seriously considering the usability of Windows 8 and all available software which are majorly released for windows OS, I considered to side with Windows and Dell for my personal and work purpose.
After, I received my Dell Laptop yesterday, a first impression itself has stunned me. Its metallic body and gorgeous screen and touch responsiveness, made me fall in Love with this Dell Laptop.
One more important thing was, I was expecting the product to be delivered by 14-Mar-2014, But I received the product 8 days in advance. A wonderful gift from Dell. Thank you Dell for this Gift.
Few more things about this laptop configurations, it is 16 GB RAM, 1 TB HDD, 2 GB NVidia GEFORCE Graphics Card. I checked all the functions of the laptop on the day one i.e., today. Found all the features and hardware drivers working very smoothly. Tested the Wi-Fi - Its Connecting like smooth. Tested Bluetooth - My head set connects awesomely with the laptop.
Tested the sound of the speakers of the laptop, The sound is so good and pure. I'm Loving it.
Connected all the USB drives, External HDDs and SDHC cards - Everything is working.
The one of the wonderful feature I didn't expect this laptop to have is Face Recognition Unlocking feature. No need for me to key in my Password, as soon as I come in front my laptop, Magic, it unlocks!! and I am onto Windows 8 Start Screen.
For all those geeks, who still blame Windows 8 for its usability, I ever wonder have they ever tried it with a fresh set of mind?? Windows 8 has all the necessary apps to perform the day-to-day activities every human being really needs to have.
The touch based interface of Windows 8 is awesome!!
Really people have become so much number minded, they always say the other OS platforms have millions of apps? But I ever wonder, If even a high profile geek ever will be able to SWIM (Use) through all those MILLIONS of apps.
Well, every one have their notion, I have mine because end of the what matter to any human being is whether they are satisfied with their needs or not.
Coming back to Dell Laptop, the model which I order is, DELL INSPIRON 15 7000 SERIES 7537.
It is an Ultrabook and it doesn't have any DVD RW Drive, this is expected and I know before I purchased because you need not have a DVD Drive for a Ultrabook, also DVD is soon going to be thing of past, since everything is USB Storage & SSDs.
Another wonderful thing about this Laptop is the looks, Man.. All Aluminum body and with steel round finish at the edges, it looks gorgeous!!!
Few things, I would want to suggest to Dell R & D team here:
- Is it possible to include more versatile Hinges where the LED display which is mounted can be turned more than 150 Degrees??
- The NVidia Graphics Card is good, is it possible to include more high-end GTX versions as part of customization, so that we can have a good option of owning a Gaming + Personal + Work laptop. I Understand this might impact the other Dell Alienware laptop models, but when we are shelling out more than 1000 dollars, we expect everything to be user customizable.
- One more important thing is, I thought this model will come with VGA port so that I can connect to external displays like LCD Projectors or External Monitors. But this VGA port is missing, I understand the HDMI port can be used, but few of the projectors which are in highly used now are yet to have a HDMI compatibility.
Well, I will post more about this Dell Laptop, But I will do so, in my next post.
