Ok quick and to the point.
I have an dell inspiron 1501, when you turn it on all the bios text is a vivid amber color. Then once it gets far enough into the boot for windows to being loading the screen goes exceptionally dark.
Its still there, its just so dark as to be near impossible to read.
Hooking it up to an external monitor shows its working fine.
Now, if I attempt to enter the bios, the vivid amber screen goes dark when the bios loads.
If I attempt to enter safe mode it goes dark.
I replaced the LCD inverter, same issue, absolutely no change. Triple checked all the connections. removed and reseated all the cable connections both to the screen itself and the motherboard. No change.
It has one other issue where it keeps telling me something like it can't detect the battery on boot, not sure if that's related but if it is its worth mentioning.
I tried to adjust the brightness with the function key but that doesn't seem to be the issue.
Any additional advice would be appreciated.
