Dell Inspiron 7720 not recognizing Video Card

Apologies if this is in the wrong place, or if it has duplicate threads elsewhere, but the only posts that I've seen regarding this are from a year ago.

My girlfriends Inspiron 7720 i7 has been running very slow and clunky for a while now, so I wiped the HDD, reverted from W8 to W7, cleaned the insides from dust and loaded it up. I installed all of the appropriate drivers, including an NVidea Geoforce video card driver. It worked like a dream that night, then the next morning when she booted it up again, gone. The system doesn't even think it has a second video card installed and just comes up with Dells onboard card, which is awful. I have tried re installing drivers, bios updates, system restores, nothing works. I cant get through to Dell customer services either without being bounced from employee to employee.

I was wondering if anyone had a fix to make this 1300dollar paperweight able to play games?

Thanks in advance,

Reece
