Is the Latitude E5540 capable of displaying custom resolutions like its predecessor, the E5530 or more than one widescreen resolution? We are currently using version 9.18.10.3257 which is the most up to date driver Dell offers via Dell's Support website.
In both the Windows and Intel Display properties, the resolutions are:
1920x1080 (The only widescreen resolution)
1280x1024
1024x768
800x600
Intel says there is a new driver available but when I try to install it, I get an error that I need to contact the manufacturer for the driver and it promptly fails.
I have tried modifying the registry per a recommendation from a Dell Gold tech, but that did not change a thing.
Any ideas? We are rolling these out now and some users are complaining that it is too hard to read the display. In the past, we have built a custom resolution of 1600x900 via the Intel Graphics Control Panel but it appears this option was removed in the model. We have tried turning the DPI up as a workaround but it causes video issues with programs we use and others complain that it isn't enough.
Thank You,
