Hi everyone, im new to this forum, as a result of the issue im having:
First of all, im from Spain, so if i make any grammatical mistake you will know why.
I've owned a dell inspiron 1525 for a few years now, never had the fever of using my TV as a monitor to watch movies and stuff untill a few months ago. I bought a HDMI cable, and everything worked fine, had a few audio problems but i got them solved, untill it broke, yes, it was a cheap cable, it didn't do any damage to either the PC or TV...
So, i managed to get a new one, but when i plugged it in the PC recognized it, and acted like it was actually outputing HDMI signal to the TV when it actually wasnt showing anything, the screen was dark like nothing were plugged in. I came to the conclusion that it was the cable, since i hadn't done any changes on the settings, but to make sure i asked my girlfriend to bring her Laptop and HDMI cable, and everything worked for her, my cable on her laptopt, her cable with my TV, in conclusion, its MY laptop the one with the problem, because i tried her cable with my pc and it happened he same thing.
Right now, i've tried every possible thing at reach of an average user you could do to the laptop, reinstalling drivers, changing every setting, trying everything, turning off both then back on, i even did a fresh format. By the way, i was using Windows 7 with the other cable, so i guessed it was probably some setting that wasnt compatible or some driver. So i went back to Vista, but nothing, same problem. The funny thing is that the laptop actually recognizes it, it even shows my TV, which is a Sony Bravia, at the graphical properties, shows it as connected, everything is OK, it just doesnt sends the image to the TV.
I've honestly lost my mind here, it has no sense whats happening me, i've found some posts but ran into nothing like my case.
Heres my specs:
-Inspiron 1525, 2 GB RAM, 1.86 GHZ Dual-Core Inside, Windows Vista Home Premium, The video card is an integrated Chipset Family 965 (Intel).
If you need any more information i haven't added yet, request it.
Thank you for your help, i hope i can find a solution, or at least know whats happening.
