Connect External Touch Screen to Inspiron 1545 - Issues

Hi

I have recently purchased a Hanns.g HT231 Touchscreen to use as an external monitor to by Inspiron 1545 to aid me in video tagging when doing sports analysis.

The Inspiron is upgraded to Win8 and the new monitor shows and works OK as a monitor.

When I attempt to connect the Touch via USB cable the screen blanks out.

Having looked at some posts around i have found some that talk about ?low power output from the USB socket? this then creates an issue with the screen processor which shuts down the screen.  Apparently the fix is to turn this low power output off???
