I've been having problems with my Precision M6700 lately.

On Win7, after turning the laptop back on, the computer would start but the screen wouldn't show anything. On Win10, the screen turned black in the middle of working.

It seems like the Nvidia Quadro K3000M is involved here, because after using an external VGA monitor, the GPU isn't display in the Device Manager with only Intel's integrated GPU visible. The computer worked for a while after uninstalling and reinstalling Nvidia GPU drivers

Does this have something to do with Windows updating the wrong video drivers or could this be a hardware issue.

Problem occurred on both Win7 and Win10

Hello :) i have a problem in some games i have this issue i enter the game and start to play it but right after i hit start and it finished to load it gives me a black screen i can still here the sound but the screen is black and i have to restart my laptop. This is not happening in all games and i don't know why :( can you help me ? I have an AlienWare m11x r1

Hello Dell.

I did a quick search, the HD5500 graphic card should support the resolution output.

Could you confirm I can use the HD5500 can output to external display as extended display for my laptop and this ultra wide display.

What specification of HDMI cable should I use pleast.

Hello Guys,

I am new to this forum and I just brought a new dell laptop
Dell Inspiron Core i3 (5th Gen) - (4 GB/500 GB HDD/Windows 10)
Z565104HIN9 3558 Notebook from flipkart.com here in India. When I watch videos on youtube at times its working perfectly fine but when I watch video on http://amwaynutrilitedaily.com which is also a youtube video I get an error on the video that says an error occured please try again later.

I deleted cookies, cache and temp files, yet the issue persists, I even tried in firefox but the issue still persists.. Is it an issue with the laptop or operating system, Please help as I am not that technical..

Someone also said to downgrade the browser as I am using edge.

My laptop model is dell inspiron 15 7559 i7 4k touchscreen, i am facing a screen issue on my dell 4k UHD touch display, when i play any game the screen starts to show these horizontal lines (video link at the bottom) 

i have tried following solutions with NO success:
-updated nvidia and intel drivers
-Changed PC resolution
-Changed game refresh rate, V-sync, resolution
-turned On/Off v-sync & tripple buffering from nvidia Control panel
-tried to play game in window mode doesnt help too

Now following details may help u understand the issue:
-when i start game from intel gpu it doesnt show lines in game
-when i connect external monitor with hdmi and play game with nvida or intel it doesnt show these lines
-The lines only show during gaming with nvida not while browsing watching movies etc.. but dont show up on external monitor even with nvida

My display is 4k UHD touch screen, laptop is in warranty i dont want to send it back for repairs unless necessary.. any help would be appreciated Sir, hope for a good response THANKS..

I had a rough time upgrading the Nvidia drivers 354.56 to install, but I got it to install without errors. Now however I'm getting long boot times. The Windows logo appears and goes black I can see the cursor but it takes about 5 minutes to get to the desktop. When I'm finally up and running the screensaver reverts back to the laptop lid as primary instead of my main monitor to cancel the screen saver I have to move my cursor over to the laptop monitor for Windows to cancel the screen saver. And the desktop slide show does not work anymore either.

Any suggestions would be great

Thanks for the update today Dell!

Been using my XPS 13 (9350) on 40" 4K monitor on TB15 dock and HDMI for a while at 30 Hz. Today, installed the updated video driver (2016-09-07) and got 50 Hz working with Plugable adapter! So, no need for the TB15 until it can also support 50 Hz or better

My setup:

I have a newish Alienware 17 R3 with an NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 980M graphics card, and apparently also have the Intel HD 530 graphics thingy running. I'm running two external monitors plus the laptop display, for a total of three screens - one direct to the HDMI port and one via a converter to a thunderbolt port. All three screens are connecting and displaying, but the NVidia card seems only to be recognising the primary display (only one display is listed in the NVidia control panel, and when I ran the Dell hardware diagnostic on the video cards the main display tested on the NVidia card, while the other two displays tested on the Intel HD 530). 

This is not in and of itself such a terrible problem, except that the conflict between the two graphics systems seems to be causing some unwanted behaviours. In particular, the primary display will not support full screen video - a nuisance for Youtube etc. but really problematic for games with video intros and such, which run pitch black. As a more occasional issue, I've had system crashes a couple of times apparently caused by trying to run full screen video on the laptop display. As I say, I ran the Dell diagnostic wossface on the displays and video cards without identifying a problem, and of course I've done the basics of turning the system off and on again and reconnecting the external screens. Interested to hear if anyone else has had trouble with this, and any suggestions to get the system running more smoothly. Much obliged,

The DELL webcam central is not working...it is not taking pictures or recording videos. The last time I was successfully able to record a video was Friday, September 2. I tried using the webcam central today and no luck. The webcam central records no audio and no video. 

There has been a major software update from Microsoft and/or DELL within the past few days. Not sure if that's what is causing the problems.

Can anyone offer any suggestions or advice to get the DELL webcam central software working again?

Hi,

I've got a XPS 15 R2 with a NVIDIA GTX 970M and a Dell Monitor (SE2417HG). They are connected using a HDMI cable.

Videos from Windows 10 apps like Netflix of TMN Go aren’t shown when they are displayed on the external monitor, but they are displayed on the laptop screen. I’ve tried with the latest NVIDIA driver from Dell support web page (10.18.13.5940) and from NVIDIA web site (372.70).

Is there a video setting or configuration that I’m missing?

My Inspiron 13 7000 laptop video has aliens!  I'm not sure how to explain.  The cursor seems to be inhabited by aliens.  Going crazy without any human interaction at all.  Usually the calendar starts popping up erratically and the cursor jumps around the screen - disabling any productivity at all.  Unable to upload the video as it is too big.  Appreciate any assistance from others!

I have tried repeatedly uninstalling and reinstalling both intel and nvidia drivers, using the stock dell drivers and the latest from each manufacturer.  Did a clean install of windows.  The computer beeps when I plug in the monitor but other than that pretends as if it doesn't exist.  Nothing shows up on boot even on the 2nd monitor.  It shows up as a grey screen in display properties but attempts to clone/extend display doesn't do anything.  I can't change resolution or anything either.

I have a Dell Precision M6700 and cannot get the laptop to recognize a second monitor. I have downloaded the following video drivers from the Dell website without success:

Intel HD 4000 Graphics Driver, AMD Fire Pro M4000/M6000 Graphics Driver, Intel HD 2000/2500/3000/4000 Graphics Driver

When installing the software above it states that my system does not meet the minimum requirements

Please help as I am losing my mind.

Hi, I just bought two U2717D monitors, connected one with DP to dock, and other with DP to the first one. Windows 10 pro detects them as one monitor, and the other one just mirrors the image of the first one. I turned MST on onscreen controls. How do i get them to work as two separate monitors?

Recently i switched from Linux to Windows and downloaded all the official drivers from download center, but i'm unable to install the video card driver either of Inter or AMD, both says "this computer does not meet the minimum requirement" and my WiFi of this device stopped working along with, i have to use wired connection now, please let me know the fix for these issues.

My issues with that laptop since i received it with the first start up ;

1- highly Screen Flickering which is hardware issue not software

2- Laptop temperature getting high after start up within 5 minutes especially the screen itself and also feeling it while touching the keyboard.

3- bios reporting an issue with USB which is sometimes work and sometimes not !!!!! which mean sometimes the laptop read the USB and sometimes not !!

** i tried all solutions over internet with formatting laptop and upgrade/downgrade bios and install latest bios version and many many articles/ forums but i do see that many users had issues with that model too

i can confirm that my laptop is defected and i need to replace it !

So please i need someone from dell to resolve my case because I'm fully tired from Dell

keep informed that my laptop issue started since 2014 ( yes I'm not kidding and i can provide you with all details to check that from your side )  with 2 times replacement and every time dell promised that i will had normal laptop but as usually not ! and the last time i asked them to check the laptop before send it for me to be sure i will not be in trouble again and they promised that i will not face that issue anymore and in case if it's happen they will replace it ASAP.

but i already communicated with Dell twitter team and they offered only part replacement but I'm not agree with that !!

I have a XPS 13 9350 with an i7-6560U and 16GB RAM. I tried to watch a 4K video such as this one but it would stutter considerably. I've tried using Media Player Classic and VLC (with hardware acceleration turned on and off) with no success. Streaming 4K videos on YouTube presents no problems.

Is it supposed to be like this? If so then I am a bit disappointed. Even though it's an under-powered laptop CPU, I was still hoping the i7-6560U would have better performance than this.
