Precision m6500, docking station, monitors go blank
I have the same problem. Running a Precision m6500 with docking station and two Monitors. One connected with the display port and the other digital cable.
Randomly the monitors will go blank but the computer remains on.

XPS 13 9434 On-screen brightness/volume/... indicator
Hello,
I'm looking for the driver that gives me that on-screen indicator when ever I change the volume or brightness level using the F3 F4 F5 etc. keys. I know for other Dell laptops it's the tool called "Dell Quickset Application" that adds this functionality, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a version for the XPS 13 9434. It isn't listed in the "Applications" list in the drivers page. I tried the XPS 13 L321X one but it doesn't let me install it.
Does anybody know what I can do to get these indicators?

Alienware 17R3 video problems
I haven't had this laptop for 2 weeks and it is giving me problems. Yesterday while playing Civilization 5 on Steam the laptop suddenly shut down and restarted, it got stuck restarting, I pulled the AC power supply and let the batteries wear down, I started it again today, used the Dell site to test it, said it was fine. I updated drivers for Nvidia and Intel graphics, restarted it, seemed fine. I opened Steam and tried to play Deus Ex; Human Revolution and it immediately said the program had stopped working. Then the BSOD appears with the message VIDEO SCHEDULER INTERNAL ERROR and reboots then after I have put my password in it froze up for more than a half hour, then a BSOD again this time with the message MACHINE CHECK EXCEPTION it tried to reboot and froze up again, it is now more than an hour later and that same screen is still there. Using the power button is of no use, at this point it doesn't do anything, neither does closing the lid. Both display adapters are enabled, is that the problem? Or something to do with Steam?
It seems pointless to have a Gaming Laptop that you can't play games on.
My unit has the Nvidia GTX 970M, an SSD, and a regular hard drive, with 16GB of memory.

XPS 9343 screen scrambling with test pattern
Hello, I am having a very strange problem with my screen looking scrambled with a test pattern when I turn it on. It does not boot anymore.
When I hold down the D key to do the display test, it actually flashes white, red, green, blue, and seems to pass the test. Does anyone have any idea what's wrong? Anyone ever seen a screen look like this?

xps 9550 with dock tb15 cannot dual display 4k resolution on 2 x dell U2717D monitors
From my laptop xps 15 9550, i couldn't figure out how to extent properly 4k resolution on each monitor.
If I refer the dell website, I am supposed to be able to dual display 4k resolution on each monitor:

Whatever I tried several as combinaisons in extended desktop, i cannot get the 4K (but only the 2K max) at 59/60hz, i cannot even get the 4k in 30hz available in the HD graphics control panel:
Primary display : dell 1 u2717d
Secondary display : dell 2 u2717d
Built-in display : laptop xps 15 9550 in on or none
Do you guys have the same issue ? or anyone already solved it ?
(The TechCenter asked me to use mDP and DP instead of using mDP and HDMI, the issue remains the same fyi whatever the combo between mDP, DP and HDMI)

drivers for opencl developemnt
I want to do some opencl development on my Alienware 15 r2 nvidia gtx956m gpu). Nvidia provides developer drivers sdk's (3.6.4.72-notebook ) but provides a warning that not all OEMs support these. Does Alienware support the nvidia drivers? If not, what is the recommended way to install cuda/opencl + developer drivers so I can do opencl development in visual studio?

Screen Flickering & Wifi
I've had the same problems on 3 dell devices: two xps 15s and one M3800. Laptop replacements nor screen replacements combined with wifi card replacements and swaps have not worked. I tried many combinations for the high res. screens, both the dell and intel wifi cards, and a whole bunch of driver OEM and manufacturer combinations with no help. Any Dell engineers out there that can actually explain or fix this issue?

Is video card working properly?

I have bought dell inspiron 15 5548 with linux. I installed windows 7 on it. This is my first laptop that has 2 video cards and i had problems with it from the get go.
I looked up all the drivers for the video cards on the dell.com website. There somehow is 3 video drivers recommended for install i will list them below:
1)Intel HD Graphics Driver (Video_Driver_99N14_WN32_10.18.15.4278_A03.EXE)
2)AMD Radeon R5 M240 Driver(Video_Driver_TJ5R3_WN_14.301.1002_A00.EXE)
3)AMD Radeon R7 M265/R7 M270 Driver (Video_Driver_V3RDN_WN_14.301.1002_A00.EXE)
At first i installed all 3 of them.
So the probkems that i had:
1)Windows every second or third time would not boot, after loading screen it would be plain black screen with nothing working.
2)if it loaded to windows screen would very soon start blinking, messages about amd video card failing would start appearing. and BSOD followed in a fex moments
I figured that the cards might be conflicting, and after disabling intel video card the problems would disappear.
I tried removing all the drivers and after i installed only the hd driver and r7 270 driver there were no such problems aswell (have to test a little bit more though). However after i try to test video card through windows rating system, it fails with error (Display driver stopped responding and has recovered) and the test does not finish. Also tried starting up dark souls 3. it also did not start and failed with the same error. On my other computer that is less powerful, game started, it had low fps, but it did not fial with error. So i am thinking that amd video card might be broken, how can i test if it works properly or not?

Dell XPS 15 (9550) and DA200 Dock not detecting VGA
Hi, so my dock DA200 is acting in really strange way. All functionalities like Ethernet, USB and HDMI are working correctly accept VGA connection. When I connect external monitor, I can see that system detects it, but nothing happens. So I have tried to use Drivers and Printers functionality to detect the screen, but nothing. After some time, I just unplugged power cable from my external monitor, but left it connected to the dock and surprising I noticed that system detected external monitor and it appeared in connected devices. After plugging monitor again, the device disappeared from the list again. My laptop detects the screen when it is off, but disconnects it when I turn it on or it is on idle. Any thoughts on this?
Edit: My Laptop has all newest drivers and newest BIOS version installed, for this particular reason I have also reinstalled windows, but no change.

problem with graphic card
Hi all. So other day i was playing some online games and suddenly my laptop crashed and blue screen appeared saying "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent dmg to your computer. Atempt to reset the display driver and recover from timeout fallen etc...
So i reinstalled windows 7,started insalling neccecery drivers and suddenly when i installed AMD Radeon HD 7670M Graphics Driver and rebooted computer i got the same blue screen with same message again.
Does that mean my graphics card is broken?
I also tried installing AMD Radeon HD 8730M Graphics Driver but it didnt want to start ( it was saying that i have to install net.framework 4.0 which i tried to install but the installation just didnt want to get finished.

Strange display issue after clean reinstallation of win 10 for Alienware 17 R3
Hi, I just clean reinstalled the win 10 for my Alienware 17 R3 several times for some driver issues (DPC). The driver issues got better but another display issue occurred. The issue is that when display moving, such as scrolling web, or moving mouse crossing the map in MOBA games, I can feel the significant stuttering and unstable FPS. I try to reinstall both video drivers but no help. Please, HELP!
What's the problem for this? Following is how I reinstall the win 10:
At first I set the RAID to AHCI where I can see the SSD, then install the win10 follow the screen instruction. I gave up all Dell related drivers, and installed other drivers by the following order. I just want to ask if any improper way here.

Precision 7710 screen will not wake
Frequently, the screen on my Precision 7710 will not wake up. I can actually remotely connect to the laptop at this time and work on it fine but sitting in front of it, the only thing that works is a hard reboot. I've similar issues on other models related to BIOS. I figured that Windows 10 updates would fix the problem but it persists since Dec-15 when I bought it. Anybody managed to find a fix for this?

Precision M6400 with a nes SSD windows Pro 64bit install what a disaster
Ok I am getting forced to move my M6400 from XP to at least Windows 7 pro
So I bought an 480GB SSD and started the evolution after several bios hiccups I got windows 7 64 bit loaded so my problem right now is it will not run an update at all I have loaded the cab drivers to try and solution and nothing
also it will not let me use the displayport for external monitor
any help would be appreciated i liked xp never any problems old timer

inspiron 7559 4K display (16GB ram, 960m GPU ) help needed. white balance/ tone is constantly changing?
I just picked up a new laptop, (inspiron 7559 4K display,16GB ram, 960m GPU ) and I'm having trouble with the display. Its always switching/flickering between the white balance/tone between a true white and a cooler blueish white.
It seems to be connected to what colors or lack of, are on the screen. When its just text its nice and white. when there is an image or colored text, the screen switches to the cool blueish white.
also happened when you mouse over an image or colored area ( not items that are links or have special functions)
any ideas before I send this thing back? I'm definitely not satisfied with the new machine.
